Black Rifle Coffee K Cups: Save Money Every Day

The #1 Way to save money on a K Cup is to not use them!

I don’t mean quit using your Keurig machine, but switch to the re-usable K cup Pods featured below. As an Amazon Associate I may earn from qualifying purchases

First let’s take a look at how much a K cup costs

So we have a cost of $.749 for each Black Rifle K cup that is almost 3 Quarters for a cup of coffee made at home.

Now you can buy bulk coffee as below

So now let’s get to the math and figure out our cost.

Using the tare function on a kitchen scale with an empty reuseable K cup on it, I then filled it with coffee and it take 16 grams of coffee to fill a reusable K cup.

Now we convert the 5lb bag to grams.

5lb x 16oz = 80 oz

1 oz = 28.3495 g

80 oz x 28.3495 = 2,267.96 grams in a 5lb bag

Now we divide the 2,267.96 grams in a bag/16 g per cup = 141.747 cups in a 5lb bag. Let’s just call it 141

Our 5lb bag is $72.99/ 141 cups = $.517/cup which is just barely over 2 Quarters for a cup of coffee

The K-cup was $.7488-$.517(reusable) = Savings of $.2318/cup x 364 days = $84.38 saved based on 1 cup of coffee per day

364 days is used because today when you buy the reusable K-Cups is the 1 day you won’t be saving money on a cup of coffee.

On a personal note, I have been using the same reusable pods for many years, we have some that have been around for at least 6 years. I would also say that when you search the filters will be offered to insert in the pod. Do not bother, they don’t help. They will actually reduce the amount of coffee in the filter making a weaker cup of coffee.
